With 1300 watts of power, this family-size countertop microwave oven provides an array of convenient features. The unit's one-touch sensor cooking automatically adjusts power levels and calculates cooking times for cooking or reheating various food items. For defrosting food even faster than with the auto-defrost feature, the microwave's inverter turbo-defrost technology distributes microwave energy in a new and more efficient way, resulting in quicker, more thorough defrosting. A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps the temperature of food at a constant level without overcooking. The improved keep-warm menu now includes five items, so foods like stew, gravy, and desserts can stay warm in the oven until they're ready to be served. In addition, the microwave provides a spacious 1-1/5-cubic-foot epoxy interior with a 13-1/2-inch automatic turntable for even heating. Other highlights include a four-digit display panel, 12 auto menu categories, five cooking stages, 10 power levels, delay start, and a timer, as well as a popcorn key, quick minute, and more/less control. The microwave oven measures 15-15/16 by 20-3/8 by 11-7/8 inches.
Customer Reviews
Here's my Problem...
...The unit is nice, but it has buttons for Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, Side Dish, Dinner but there are absolutely no instructions on how to use them. The manual had no info. Called CS and spoke to a gentleman who had absolutely no idea how to use the buttons. No help at all. I called back and got another rep who said you need to press Breakfast one time for oatmeal - 2 times for beverage - Press Dinner 8 times for a baked potatoe....WHAT!!!!
OK so I'm just not going to be able to use those buttons. PERIOD!
But it does have some nice features. Such as the keep warm button - just put the plate in the microwave, push the "Keep Warm" button and it gives a bust of power every now and again to keep the food warm. Nice for the kids that can't seem to get home in time for supper.
It has an "Inverter Turbo Defrost" - put your item in - click how many pounds and that's it. Worked well in defrosting a pound of frozen fish. It actually came out thawed but not cooked, not even on the edges.
Over all a nice system, and I got it for $69 as a Gold Box sale!
So far so good
I've only been using this new microwave for a month now, so I can't speak to how long it will last, but so far I love it. It looks great, is easy to use, and cooks better than my old one. The manual is easy to follow, but I really haven't looked at it much because the design is so intuitive. And it makes great popcorn - few unpopped kernels and no scorching. Great performance - especially for the price.
This had a lot to live up to... and did.
I was replacing a microwave I'd had for years, after the old one... erm. Caught on fire. (the door latch had been failing for months. Learn from this! If your microwave works sporadically, get a new one before you are running out the back door with the critter in arms to toss it on the back lawn while white smoke pours out! But I digress.)
I loved that old microwave. I hate learning new interfaces. And I learned this one. Fast. I set it up by the book, and did not have trouble. I have learned how to use almost all the buttons. I finally have realized I do not need to push a button to open the door, after hitting the spot where the old one had a button many times the first month.
And it is FASTER! I had to reduce the reheat of my big mug of coffee from 1:30 to 1 minute. That is nice when I'm late to work.
It is also a LOT lighter than my old model. The state of the art has improved. If you have a heavy old model that you didn't like to move on your counter even when you knew it had to be really grody behind it and you should clean it... well, you will be able to slide this one over, or even move it to another counter to clean its spot.
The only thing I miss is that the old one was about 2 inches taller inside, and a couple items I used to put in do not fit in this one.
